DRIFFIELD fighter Curtis Woodhouse begins training in earnest today for the biggest fight of his career - in front of a worldwide pay-per-view audience.

The 29-year-old light-welterweight is on the undercard at David Haye's heavyweight contest at the MEN Arena against John Ruiz on April 3. He said: "It's the biggest fight of my career so far and it's going to give me a lot of coverage.

"It's so high profile because it's pay-per-view so it's fair to say that it's a massive fight for me.

"Chris is a good fighter so it will also be my biggest challenge to date inside the ring.

"I'll give myself a couple of days off and then I'll be back in training to prepare for the fight."

Success against Sebire next month would put Woodhouse in line for another high-profile bout against one of Britain's best.

He added: "I'd look to be taking on Steve Williams in the fight after next, all being well.

"But I need to get my preparation right for the fight against Sebire first and give a good account of myself in that one."
